Introduction to me

My name is Paige Phillips, Im 21 and I am currently a senior here at OU. Im from Tulsa, Oklahoma and I always knew that I wanted to come to OU. I am the youngest of two brothers and I have two amazing parents. I also have a wiener dog named oscar, he is the best dog ever if I do say so myself. My major is criminology with a minor in social justice, I plan on going to law school this next Fall. I love my major and one day I hope to be a prosecutor for the child crisis unit. This past summer I had an internship with a law firm and I absolutely loved it, I am extremely exited for my future career. I am a member of Delta Delta Delta and have made some amazing friends through the greek experience. In my spare time I like to hangout with my friends and occasionally go see movies. In the future I would also like to travel to Greece, it is on my bucket list to go there some day. I think Greece is one of the most beautiful countries. Another fact about me is that I love Chinese food,  it has always been my favorite food. Im really looking forward to my senior year and all that it will entail and I know I will be learning a lot. I am a huge football fan so the fall semester is definitely my favorite. Those are just a couple things about me.

  1. Oh, your Oscar is a cutie: maybe he will make an appearance in a story that you tell for class! And congratulations on your law firm internship and your law school plans. If you are interested in looking at the theme of Dharma in this class, that would be a great way to make an India connection. It's hard to even find an exact English translation for Dharma, but "Law" is one way it can be understood: more about Dharma at Wikipedia ... and of course the whole idea of laws and lawgivers, crimes and punishments, is a huge topic in the mythology and folklore of the world, so I'm sure you can find legal themes to explore in both classes if you want! (And of course lots of dog stories from around the world in Myth-Folklore too!)

  8. Hey Paige, Criminology seems like a really cool major. One of my teammates is majoring in that as well. Going to law school should really help especially since you want to be a prosecutor. It is something that I admire that you want to do that. it is something that I do not have in me, but we need people to be able to do that. Good luck with Law School

  11. Hey Paige! I love that you added a picture of your dog! I know how important my dogs are to me so it is great to see other people caring for their pets as well. I am in Greek life at OU too and it is amazing to have so many opportunities that we really wouldn't have had otherwise, so it is great to see another Panhellenic woman thriving. Thanks for sharing a part of who you are with us, and have a great rest of the semester!

  12. Hey Paige! I think it's awesome that you are going to go to law school and that you already know what law you want to practice! I also want to go to OU law and will probably do more contract/real estate law than anything else. I also am a huge fan of Sooners football! Glad to know there's another future law student in class! I'm also a big Sooner football fan (it's practically a prerequisite to play in the band lol), and though today is dark day for the rivalry, I have high hopes for the rest of the season (fingers crossed!). Congrats on your senior year and the summer's internship, and best of luck with classes, exams, and law school in your future. Thanks for sharing!

  14. Hi Paige! I like your dog Oscar. He’s so cute! I think being a prosecutor can be a tough job, but I think it’s also meaningful. That’s amazing that you had an internship at a law firm, and I guess that must have been a unique experience. I haven’t been to Greece either, but I’ve seen photos and they look amazing! We should travel there one day. I agree with you: Chinese food is super tasty! It’s nice to meet you Paige!

  15. Hi Paige! I just want to tell you firstly that your dog is so cute! I think it's amazing that you want to be a lawyer. I've always found that profession so interesting ever since I watched the TV show Suits. Have you ever watched it? It's an awesome show. Also, I love your major! I had a sociology-criminology minor but it was not going to work out because of some class timing issues but I know how interesting the classes are so I'm happy for you! Did you take Criminology with Dr. Hill? He was my favorite! Anyway, hope you have a great rest of the semester!

  16. Hi Paige, criminology sounds super interesting. I'm glad you enjoyed your internship; enjoying your work experience is very important. Also, you dog is freakin' adorable, especially with the bow. Nice touch. Props on pursuing law school! My cousin is a lawyer, and they really enjoy the work they do everyday. They have been able to help a lot of people with that career. A prosecutor for a child crisis unit could do so much good it sounds like. Anyway, I hope you having a good semester!

Once upon a time, there was a king a lived in a kingdom that he loved very much. The king was well liked and he was known to be a kind man. One day he decided he wanted a dog as a pet. He called upon one of his workers and told him to find the most special dog he could. The worker did exactly that, he traveled all over until he came upon a man that gave him a small puppy. This puppy had the brightest blue eyes that anyone had ever seen and his coat had the most beautiful shades of white and grey. The worker knew this was a special dog, so he paid the man and returned back to the kingdom. When he returned he presented the puppy to the king, he was ecstatic. He knew the dog was special and he could not wait to show him off. The king put his dog on the most exotic leash he could find and went out to walk around the kingdom. People were stopping in their tracks to look at the dog. Everyone who saw this puppy was amazed at its beauty and poise. The dog didn't bark, bite or disobey, it
