Storybook Favorites

Looking through these stories started to get me excited about this upcoming semester in this class, I know I am going to learn a lot and am eager to do so. There were many stories that caught my eye but here are three that I particularly liked.

The Karma Diaries was one that I specifically liked because I like to think that karma is something that serves its way through life. I am familiar with what karma is but not so much where it is from or what the history is behind it and I want to learn more about that. The introduction made me want to read the further stories about how "Judge Karma" punished or rewarded her people by the actions they had done. The introduction described the premise well and the layout of the page gave an ominous feeling, almost like a mystery to read more and find out what had happened. Overall, the page was well designed and set up so that it was easy for me to navigate. The images within the story helped me to make a mental picture of what the story was describing.

In the story Go Greece or Go Home I was initially drawn to the title because I am a part of a sorority and the title talked about going Greece, or as some say going greek. The introduction had me hooked as soon as I began to read it. I am familiar with Athena and Poseidon but I am not familiar with their powers and what they are known for, so this story introduced me to new information. The way the page is set up made it easy for me to navigate and it also had a simple but good looking design. The images within the story helped me relate the story to pictures and see what the author was referring to. This story gave me some ideas of what I might want to write about for my project.

The third story I chose that was one of my favorites was Real Housewives of Greek Mythology. I was initially intrigued by this title because I personally love to watch the housewives shows on television and thought this story would be comedic. To my pleasure this story was all about the drama and I loved it. The way the author had the dialogue like a script was creative and fun and the page was set up for me to work easily. I enjoyed reading these stories because they were making fun of the housewives in real life and the absurd things they fight about. The  pictures were fun and related to the stories being told. This was definitely my favorite and helped me come up with some new ideas for my future project.

Week 4 Story: The King and His Missing Queen

The King and His Missing Queen The King wept in sorrow when he had come to the realization his bride had disappeared. He was unsure if she had run or if she had been taken but he knew there was only one person that could be behind this, his enemy King Archer. The King and King Archer had hated each other for years and he knew that only he would do something so cruel as to take away his wife. "I want a search party of 300 people to enter the woods and find my wife" shouted the King to his trusty advisors. They all nodded in compliance. The next day the King's wishes were followed through like promised, a search party left with 300 people to find his wife. They searched high and low through the woods looking for any sign of her. Many days passed with no sign until a young bird came to a group of searchers and told them he saw the young bride leaving the kingdom on a horse with a young child. The people were confused as to who she could have left with. They find out ...

Week 7 Story: The Great Fight

The Great Fight Once upon a time, long long ago, their was a fight that would change the world. This fight was between two sisters that happened to be twins. Long before this fight began the two sisters grew up as the best of friends. These sisters did everything together and both were princesses to their parents who were the king and queen of a magnificent city. Many people had always wondered who would take the throne when the time came but this was never a thought of the young girls, until one day.... The king and queen came to their daughters the day they turned 18 and told them that in order for one of them to take the throne they must first complete some tasks. They said that whoever was to complete the tasks the quickest and with the most success would gain the throne. The sisters agreed, and the tasks ensued.  For weeks there were archery tournaments, hunting tournaments, agility tests, and tasks that tested their ability to think rationally and quickly. Weeks we...

Week 13 Story: The Well Trained Dog

Once upon a time, there was a king a lived in a kingdom that he loved very much. The king was well liked and he was known to be a kind man. One day he decided he wanted a dog as a pet. He called upon one of his workers and told him to find the most special dog he could. The worker did exactly that, he traveled all over until he came upon a man that gave him a small puppy. This puppy had the brightest blue eyes that anyone had ever seen and his coat had the most beautiful shades of white and grey. The worker knew this was a special dog, so he paid the man and returned back to the kingdom. When he returned he presented the puppy to the king, he was ecstatic. He knew the dog was special and he could not wait to show him off. The king put his dog on the most exotic leash he could find and went out to walk around the kingdom. People were stopping in their tracks to look at the dog. Everyone who saw this puppy was amazed at its beauty and poise. The dog didn't bark, bite or disobey, it...
